Head, Accounts (Non-Fuel)

All accounting and tax accounting activities are supervised and managed by the Head of Accounts function, including general accounting activities, analyses, business partnerships, internal controls, and statutory compliance.
The position oversees the business’s accounting and reporting operations and reports to the Chief Finance Officer, who oversees the whole financial department.
Additionally, the post holder must collaborate with other finance department heads to determine intricate modelling of the business’s financial strategies across the organisation.
Job Duties: – Leadership/Supervision of
The Head of Accounting has primary responsibility for leading the accounting and tax accounting departments. This function oversees end-of-period operations and analyses corporate performance, budgets, and predictions.
Helps the accounting department create and update risk management procedures. The post holder motivates, develops, and creates a departmental culture and vision, and is responsible for quarterly/annual audit success.
Responsible for creating accounting skills and supporting finance department continual development. He leads business thinking and works with top management to manage financials. The Head of Accounting mentors important accounting staff to help them improve professionally and prepare for his succession.
Forming Policies:
Leading role in designing and improving accounting and finance financial policies and practises.
Makes ensuring accounting department practises and policies are consistent and aligned with business goals.
Follows corporate framework policies and finance guides.
Support and Collaboration:
Collaboration with internal and external workers in accounts execution. All auditing and taxes matters are discussed with external partners such tax accounting company staff and auditors.
Advising senior finance department staff on department and business-wide practises.
Work with business department leaders to support their financial activities, guide them through the financial process, and analyse financial results.
Documenting and Reporting:
Ensure the department documents all financial records.
Coordinating year-end activity report, stock-taking, and trade summary
Management account preparation supervision.
He prepares quarterly/annual revenue reports for the Chief Finance Officer. Prepare accounting and taxation reports. These reports provide proactive accounting and taxes advise for the firm.
The Financial Analysis:
Leading accounting departments in account preparation, quarterly/annual audits, and final account preparation is the role.
When due, prepare product landing costs and profitability analysis
Leads the Accounting department in preparing and monitoring the business’s annual budgets and works with external auditors on ad hoc projects to increase process efficiency. In this role, the Head of Accounts ensures that the accounting department actively implements audit findings to improve financial performance.
• Inventory Management • Research/Knowledge/Opportunity:
Ensuring departmental conformity with state tax rules and accounting principles.
Attending regular internal and external financial forums/meetings to get expertise and insights for the accounting and finance departments.
Make proposals for finance department system upgrades and manage implementation of accepted modifications.
Crucial Skills & Qualifications.
Degree in accounting, financial management, or similar disciplines, including ICAN, ACCA, or ACA certifications.
A senior tax accountant or senior accountant with at least 8 years of experience in a fast-paced, dynamic accounting position.
The candidate must have demonstrated financial accounting department leadership performance.
Experience with corporate tax computations and process control design and implementation.
Tax management expertise and ability to translate complex financial data into corporate planning, processes, and risk management.
