Service Advisor

Work Description

Notifies consumers of routine maintenance needs.
Diagnoses mechanical issues by interviewing customers or performing visual inspections or road tests.
Discusses inspection results with customers, suggests fixes, and creates work orders.
Service time, cost, and labor estimates are included in the repair order.
Helps the technician find the problem by briefly describing the customer’s concern on the repair order.
Explains work and repair order charges to customer.
Manages consumer issues.
Makes servicing appointments.
Gets customer and vehicle data before arrival.
Warmly greets customers and gets car information.
Test drives vehicle with customer to confirm problem or refer to test technician.
Reviews service history, inspects car, and suggests extra work.
Advises consumers on car upkeep and the need of following manufacturer guidelines.
Complete and accurate labor and part cost estimate in writing.
Sets “promised time.” Consults dispatcher as needed.
Customers sign and receive copies of repair orders.
Sets customer payment method. Gets credit if needed.
Notifies dispatcher of work.
Tracks repair progress daily. Informs consumers of estimate or time changes, discusses cost and time needs, and obtains permission before performing extra repairs.
Runs a service marketing program.
Checks repair orders for completion and further work and authorisation. Closes repair order when needed.
Parks automobiles in designated zones. Keeps them locked and marks and stores keys.
Updates service department forms, menus, and pricing.
Eliminates comebacks with quality control.
Maintains great customer satisfaction.
Answers appointment and work-in-progress calls.
Checks all vehicles for body work, informs customers, and offers estimates.
Looks professional.
Keeps workplace tidy.
Other assigned tasks.
Requirements

Engineering bachelor’s degree.
Automotive aftersales experience 2–5 years.
Able to use all Microsoft Office applications, notably Excel.
Successful customer service and customer-facing roles.
Basic auto/tech skills.
Excellent writing and speaking skills.
Excellent organization, learning, and work ethic.
Effective communication and time management.
