The salary range for this position is: £40,005 – £46,053

The Role:

We are recruiting a NQSW to join the Community Review team based in our Older Person and Physical Disabilities Service. As an NQSW you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills through our highly supportive and reflective Assessed & Supported Year in Employment Programme (ASYE).

The programme will provide NQSWs with access to regular and focused support and development, to guide them through to the end of their first year in employment. Support offered includes:

– Regular supervision with a designated practice assessor (providing opportunity for reflection and learning).

– A protected caseload (both in terms of volume and complexity).

– Protected learning and development time (two days per month).

– Regular reflective developmental workshops

– Designated workplace buddy.

The Community Review Team provide a reviewing service for older people and adults with physical disabilities who are currently in receipt of care and support services. Practitioners’ in the team complete strength based assessments and work in partnership with our residents to maximise their independence and promote their wellbeing. We are an integrated service made up of both Social Workers and Occupational therapy.

Your duties will include:

To visit residents with physical, and/or mental health needs, at their home, or permanent residence and complete strength-based reviews of their existing care services, which maximise their independence and increase their wellbeing.

Completing Mental Capacity Assessments and making best interest decision in partnership with the resident and their families.

To support residents to enable access to the Community Voluntary Sector and connect residents to local assets/resources to promote their health and well-being to determine with what is important to them – employment, training, social and leisure opportunities.

To complete safeguarding enquiries where it appears an adult is potentially subject to abuse or neglect.

To accurately record all interventions on the Social Care Records system.

To ensure that services are provided in accordance with current departmental policies and guidelines. To implement strategies to combat discrimination.

About you:

You must hold a recognised social work qualification obtained within the last year (or be in the final stages of a recognised social work qualification that should be concluded at the time of the interview) and be registered with Social Work England before commencing the ASYE programme.

As a social worker you will be key in ensuring the welfare and assessed needs of those whom we support making sure they are managed in a safe and inclusive way. We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and motivated newly qualified social worker to join our service. You will adopt a strength-based, person centred approach to your work and be able to balance challenging demands whilst growing and developing in your practice.
