Work Description

Commercial Banking Relationship Managers recruit and retain commercial banking clients. Helps organise, underwrite, negotiate, and manage complex credit relationships.
Develop and implement relationship management plans for high-value clients, working with client support, product, and senior management.
Must understand client financial needs and the Bank’s deposit, treasury, and private banking solutions.
Will follow all Bank rules and state and federal banking requirements.
Essential Duties: – Business Development

Effective business development and relationship management keep and grow a profitable book of business.
Is focused on our target client, knows their financial demands, and communicates our value proposition well.
Develops Bank product and service expertise. Client and prospect needs are analysed to recommend products and services.
Participates in sales management to meet bank production goals.
Participates in community events and networking to promote Seattle Bank.
Utilises bank CRM.
Underwriting:

Identifies business opportunity risk indicators and provides a complete credit recommendation.
Prepares credit presentations and assists with underwriting and approval.
Builds, underwrites, and negotiates credit arrangements and documents them.
Completely documents all loans and resolves paperwork or loan policy exceptions.
Managing relationships:

Owns Bank client relationship.
Prioritises relationships and has a customer-specific plan.
Consultatively understands our clients’ goals, determines their financial needs, delivers appropriate financial solutions, and monitors plan execution.
Effectively interacts with client service, product, and senior management to provide great client service.
Anticipates client needs.
Understands and handles important relationship stakeholders and purchase influences.
Knows bank operating policies that affect commercial interactions.
Management of portfolios

Responsibility for portfolio management, compliance, and risk.
Monitors portfolio direct and operating exposures to ensure actual performance matches approved limits, loan structures, and our credit approval understanding or expectations.
Changes risk ratings promptly to reflect changes that affect clients and the Bank’s risk exposure, including regulatory compliance.
Performs correct credit reviews, renewals, and adjustments on time.
Maintains borrower reporting and financial covenants.
Cooperates with credit administration.
Teamwork, leadership:

Shows leadership by striving high performance and professionalism.
Completes Bank training, follows policies and procedures, knows the rules and regulations, completes administrative responsibilities on schedule, and supports the Bank’s goals and values.
Requirements

Bachelor’s in Business, Finance, or Accounting. Equivalent education and appropriate work experience may be considered.
3-5 years managing high-value private or commercial banking clients and designing, structuring, underwriting, and negotiating complicated credit agreements.
Must be self-starter who can manage high-profile connections with minimal supervision and communicate with senior management.
Negotiates approval terms within defined parameters.
Provides complete, timely, and correct credit presentations for approval.
Good oral and written communication skills and ability to listen to customers and workers.
Handling complex issues with various variables in non-standard scenarios.
