Position: Internship Program 2024 – Session I
Location: Abidjan, C?te d’Ivoire (with potential remote opportunities)
Duration: 3 to 6 months

Program Overview:
The AfDB Internship Program is an integral component of our Talent Management Framework, designed to align with the Bank’s Ten-Year Strategy and the High 5s objectives. Interns are chosen through a competitive process, considering the Bank’s operational needs.

Key Features:

  • Interns may be placed at the Headquarters in Abidjan, Regional, or Country Offices.
  • Depending on the department’s requirements, internships can be remote or on-site.
  • The program aims to offer students hands-on professional experience and potentially identify future recruits for the Bank. However, the internship doesn’t guarantee immediate employment.

Areas of Study:
Candidates should be from fields relevant to the Bank’s operations, including but not limited to Economics, Agriculture, Private Sector Development, Health, Environment, Finance, IT, Law, Internal Audit, and Governance. Special preference is given to students whose projects align with the Bank’s mission.

Program Timeline:
The 2024 Internship Program’s first session begins in January 2024.

  • Internship duration ranges between three to six months.
  • Interns may work remotely or on-site based on departmental needs.
  • Remote interns should have a PC, stable internet, and a conducive environment.
  • On-site interns handle their travel and living expenses.
  • The Bank assists in visa processes.
  • Interns receive medical insurance and a monthly stipend.

Eligibility:

  • Must be below 30 years old.
  • Currently pursuing a Master’s Degree from a recognized institution.
  • Application is possible within a year of obtaining the degree.
  • Must be a national of an AfDB member country.
  • Proficiency in English or French.
  • Familiarity with standard software packages; SAP knowledge is a plus.

Focus Areas:
The program emphasizes areas aligned with the Bank’s strategies, including Power, Energy, Climate, Agriculture, Private Sector Development, Infrastructure, Economics, Governance, Finance, Legal, HR, Audit, Communication, Gender, and Environmental Assessment.
