Job Description

  • We are seeking a Legal/HR Specialist to join our team at Pella Group. This unique role combines legal expertise with human resources responsibilities to ensure compliance, manage employee relations, and support the legal needs of the organization.
  • The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining a healthy and legally compliant workplace, fostering positive employee experiences, and contributing to the company’s overall success.

  • Administrative Duties:In addition to your legal responsibilities, you will also undertake various administrative tasks. These may include preparing offer letters for new employees, conducting training sessions to familiarize staff with our company’s code of conduct, ensuring strict adherence to organizational rules and regulations, and adapting workplace policies to reflect the ever-changing dynamics of the modern world.
  • Representing the Company:In cases of litigation, you will serve as the organization’s legal representative, ensuring our interests are well defended and advocating for favorable outcomes.
  • Attending Meetings with the Managing Director: As necessary, you may accompany the Managing Director to sales and marketing meetings, or go on Her behalf, providing crucial legal counsel and diligently noting important proceedings on behalf of the company.
  • Recruitment Oversight: Overseeing the recruitment process for staff across all our branches. You will play a vital role in ensuring the recruitment activities align with legal requirements, company policies, and industry best practices. This includes developing job descriptions, conducting interviews, evaluating candidates, and making recommendations for hiring decisions. By maintaining a comprehensive and fair recruitment process, you will help build a talented and diverse workforce to support the growth and success of our organization.
  • Employment Law Compliance: Staying updated with employment laws and regulations, you will ensure that our organization follows all legal requirements related to hiring, employee benefits, termination, and other HR-related matters.
  • Branch Visits and Staff Sensitization: As the In-house Lawyer/HR professional, You will regularly visit Our branches, around Lagos, to conduct sensitization sessions and enhance the productivity of the staff. During these visits, you will provide guidance on legal matters, reinforce company policies, and offer training opportunities to ensure employees are well informed and empowered to perform their duties effectively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Law, or a related field. Advanced degrees and certifications in HR or law are a plus.
  • 2 – 5 years work experience.
  • Proven experience in HR and legal roles, preferably in a related industry.
  • Applicant must reside within Lekki environs.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and strong decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
