Retail & Publicity Assistant (Bookshop) at Patabah Books Limited

Primary Functions

The Retail & Publicity Assistant will assist with store retail and communication.
The Retail & Publicity Assistant will assist other Retail Assistants in helping customers find items and have a great shopping experience.
The Retail & Publicity Assistant updates the company’s Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Mailchimp, and website.
The Retail & Publicity Assistant answers email and social media inquiries from clients and potential authors.
They will also update the corporate website with goods and fulfill online purchases.
Customer Service Duties:

The Retail & Publicity Assistant will assist Retail Assistants in helping clients find merchandise when they are looking for it and when they are not.
Retail Assistants should record customer requests and contact information and share it with the retail team so they can notify customers when the item is ready.
Shelving and Display:

The Retail & Publicity Assistant should help Retail Assistants put books back after consumers leave and clean the shelves for other customers. When products are acquired, shelf gaps may remain. Assistants must continuously check and cover shelves.
The Retail & Publicity Assistant will help Retail Assistants develop weekly displays, including a ?Bestsellers? or themed exhibit and a window display refresh twice a week.
The Retail & Publicity Assistant will help the Retail Assistants clean the store and items as ordered.
Help with communication:

Following up on internet purchases:
Follow up on order fulfillment via phone, email, and website
As needed, coordinate social media orders with Retail Assistants and Manager.
Respond to consumer, publisher, author, and supplier enquiries via email, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms.
Manage monthly book readings.
Join the retail crew to represent the bookshop at book fairs and other outreach events.
Post daily to official social media pages and answer to comments.
Create a twice-monthly email newsletter.
If possible, encourage personnel to upload ?behind the scenes? images online.
Encourage store visitors to photograph and share their purchases online.
Cleaning and upkeep:

Each retail assistant must care for the merchandise, equipment, furniture, and other objects on the shop floor and maintain the store clean.
The store must be swept every night.
Cleaning merchandise five days a week is required.
Other duties as needed.
Experience/Qualifications
This candidate should:

An HND or Bachelor’s Degree
2?6 years relevant job experience.
Be an energetic, entrepreneurial self-starter. Retail experience is preferred but not required.
Communicate well in English, both written and verbally.
Be well-organized and prompt.
Regularly read fiction or nonfiction
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with productivity software like Microsoft Office Suite and prominent social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WordPress, and Mailchimp.
Be neat and friendly.
Want to market and sell
Learning new abilities requires curiosity, coachability, and interest.
Take charge and collaborate well.
Working Conditions:

Monday through Saturday (8.30am?6pm) workweeks.
Projects or promotions may require extended hours.
The job is in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria, thus candidates should live nearby.
