1.) Optical Fibre Transport Design Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • This is a vital position to support design & planning of network unit and providing technical solutions for connecting cell sites and enterprise customer locations for excellent customer experience.
  • This person will be interacting with the Partners’ teams’ very extensively. Robust, flexible and state of art fiber and microwave transmission network planning & delivery is the essence of the role.

Key Responsibilities
Fiber network design & planning:

  • Study the new site’s & Node’s requirements and prepare connectivity plan.
  • Study traffic pattern / growth and plan capacity expansion accordingly to meet the business requirement specially data growth.
  • Ensure all networks are scalable and flexible to accommodate new sites / nodes, interfaces, etc.
  • Monthly study the utilization of fiber network and take necessary steps to groom the traffic for effective capacity utilization and remove bottle necks.
  • Closely interact with IP & Core network planning & operations team to meet the requirements of MPLS / MPBN network.

Redundancy & ASON protection design:

  • Analyse and correct any frequency interference cases as & when reported.

Microwave network Design & Planning:

  • Preparation of AOP & budget for capex and opex for fiber network.
  • IP Network design & Planning.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Plan for fiber connectivity to all RNC, BSC, and switch locations with minimum 3 paths.
  • BoQ preparations & validation.
  • Preparing RFP & technical specification.

Good Technical Knowledge:

  • Close interactions with internal departments like Supply Chain, Finance, deployment, and operations.
  • Bandwidth and capacity planning & management.
  • Project Plan preparations, progress monitoring and tracking for Fiber project.
  • Day to day monitoring of KPIs of transmission network to ensure that the reliability is as good as it was planned.
  • MIS for senior management.
  • Regular meetings with partners.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering.
  • Sound knowledge of fiber optics network for Mobile & Enterprise Network – Planning.
